New Skin
Okay, it's been suggested to me that MyBBThemes needs a new default theme. I'm not going to do the old Birthday theme, because there were way to many images in it.
BlueSand is just a temporary here, but we need to get a new skin up, and I need to make it! Just one question to you guys... what colors? I haven't a clue what color scheme to use, which is why I'm asking you guys what you all want the default theme to look like! Let me know what you think, and thanks!! ~FFW FYI: I'm not a sir, dude, or guy. I am a 'miss'.

LOL I think I would pout alot about the main bbs default theme being pink as I am not too fond of it..., but yeah lite blues..., white..., lite greys.., etc..., gives a nice web2.0 feel..., either that or lite green white and lite greys.., I dunno what you wanna do though FFW....., just what i would do for a default..., LOL...., i guess I need a special FFW thinking cap for occasions such as this.

RE: New Skin
I liked the birthday theme, because not only did it have a nice blend of colors, it also looked like effort had been put into it, and not some 5 minute theme.
If we are to have a good default, we need something with enough pizazz, something that won't make us say "You know, the birthday theme was much better than this..." We shouldn't limit ourselves to the very minimum. Instead of a couple colors, use quite a few. Instead of basic images, find something unique. We need a default that would set us apart from other forums. I'll think of some ideas before I post them, but for anyone else who pitches in ideas, think about what I have said above.

RE: New Skin
I never said we need to use a lot of images, just stay away from the same overused minimum.

Well from a designers perspective..., there are only so many colors to place into a bbs design before it becomes overkill...., and even if you use a small amount of colors..., art can still be created with ease and beauty. Also a skilled designer wants to make a work of art but also include ease of use and also cater to the slowest of learners..., to make things excessive in color and features is great for the more experienced users but will drive away many new users..., that is why a default theme should be elegant but simple..., then you can add a more advanced theme that advanced users can select from the usercp that way you have the best of both worlds and ease of use for all skill levels. ![]() ![]() MyBB Themes Team - Making more professional themes by the hour. RE: New Skin
Alright, I'm sorry I don't have the experience of a developer to know what's best. But my point is, let's make this new default a good theme.
