Wasn't planning on a new theme it just sort of came to me. But I can't decide what to do about off, on, and off lock.

No offense, but I think you might want to change everything.
The texture is just awful, it feels so cheap, and paper like, try to use a blend of colors for the texture, I know you might be going for a school styled theme, but I'm sure there are way better textures than the one you are currently using.
The icons are also ugly, they feels to boxy, and hastily put together. Wiz has a school based forum, ask her for some good icons
Now here's something major. It feels to boxy, if I joined that forum, I'd feel as if I just joined a cardboard box. Fools around with rounded edges, fool around with colors, think outside the box.
I'm no expert, but these are things I noticed and would want changed, if I were a member on your forum,

Alex, don't be so hard. It takes time to come up with a theme, plus the extra time of putting it together. It's almost too mind boggling to create theme and then change everything. Once you begin creating themes, you'll understand.
Well, tom, what I would change is the solid brown for both the tcat and thead. Perhaps for the thead image it could be a dark to light brown gradient? The bottom could be a white / silver gradient to match the paper icons.
And then I would take the paper offlock.gif and add a X icon to it (symbolizing it's locked) and for the on.gif I would add a pencil to it, symbolizing there's new posts.

Actually it is pretty nice. My mom liked the buttons at the top.
Actually the problem is I don't know how to do rounded corners. I'm no good at code. Cuz you need 3 graphics. One round left corner, one right, and one middle thing for the bar. But the default thead_bg and subhead_bg only have rooom for 1 file in the admin cp theme thingee.
Well all you'd have to do is download one of my rounded cornered themes and change all the images and colors, ect, to make it look however you want it.
Rounded corners are more of a personal preference.. Depends on whether you like it square or rounded.
But if I do modify an existing theme I can't re-release it right? Even if I change all the images and colors?
Not at all. If you change it / modify it, and change the images to your own, feel free to remove my copyright, add your own, and release it. :yes:
